This painting is about choosing love over fear, and embracing the times when we break for the guides they are.

The price of love is grief—
maybe not tomorrow, but someday.
But the thing is - it is always, always, always worth it.

Breaking Open is about letting your heart lead in a world that feeds you lies about playing it cool, about having it all together.

But—
that’s not how you protect yourself.
That’s how you lose yourself.

I painted this when I needed to be reminded
that loving deeply—
openly, vulnerably—is sacred.
And even though years have passed,
the message still rings true.

Don’t be afraid to break - more often than not, the breaking is just the beginning
of who we are.

This isn’t the “trauma makes us stronger” narrative, because I don’t agree with that on so many levels.

This is about embracing the mess of life,
about learning from every story,
every adventure that doesn’t go as planned,
and every new decision we make
in uncharted territory.

With each choice, we learn more about our hearts, about our truth;

what fuels our fire,
and what throws buckets of water on it.
All of it.

This painting is a reminder
to take the leap of faith,
to bet on yourself,
To let your heart lead and 
do the risky thing you actually care about.

Whatever it is,
just be brave enough to choose what you truly want.

Be brave enough to stop protecting yourself so much that you miss the good parts too🪲
